Prosperity affirmations are a lot like positive affirmations and how they work is quite the same. Have you ever stopped to notice that being stressed and uptight is not a great way to attract perfect customers?

I know it can be hard sometimes when you’re wondering where the next customer is going to come from and you’re looking at your bills that keep mounting. Believe me, I can relate.

But I have learned that worry ~ even one minute of worry ~ is completely 100% counter-productive to the results I want.

Even if I forget for a second that my thoughts are creating my reality, and I take a long logical look at how I come off to others when I’m anxious, really it’s not an attractive picture. It’s clear to me that my perfect customers will not recognize me at all when I am not being my true, authentic self. And doesn’t that make sense?

Now coming back to the fact that our thoughts do create our reality, can you see how worry is working against your dreams coming true? In fact, worry is a negative future projection.

In the book “The Law of Attraction,” Abraham-Hicks points out that even 17 seconds of continuous intention around a desire will start that desire coming to you. Unfortunately, focusing on a possible negative outcome, especially when coupled with strong emotion, is a powerfully creative act, though we may not like the outcome!

When I first read “The Law of Attraction,” I stopped to remember the last time I had spent a solid 17 seconds focusing on my positive intent without considering the opposite or my ‘shadow of a doubt.’ It was challenging to remember a time outside of a self-help workshop where I had stayed completely positive for that long. That was an eye opener!

Now with my penchant toward negative thinking revealed, I am empowered to try a worry-free approach to marketing. I have learned that staying true to my purpose and focused on the positive aspects is vital to the Attraction Marketing process.

Toward that end, I’d like to share some tips I’ve learned to RELAX, kick back and attract my perfect customers.

TIP 1: Be Kind to Yourself
Spend 15 minutes doing something you love. Sometimes a whole day can fly past without me stopping to smell the daisies. Now I make sure to go out to my garden at least 15 minutes a day to be with my beautiful plants. What is your favorite thing to do? Stop what you’re doing now and go do that for 15 minutes. Notice how attractive you feel when you do what you love.

Maybe you love to do yoga… so grab your mat and your biz card, post card or flier and find places to post your ad on your way to yoga class. Or perhaps you like to party, so plan a party where you and everyone gets to show off their products and services. Or if you like to write, write an article or blog entry and send it off to your list. Obviously that’s one of my favorite fun marketing actions~!

Gratitude: Miracles Abound!

There are four essential steps to moving your vision from mere potential to fully manifested, touch it, see it, experience it physical reality:

1. Decide
2. Believe
3. Ask for guidance
4. Take action

A key component of successfully activating step #2, “Believe”, is gratitude. Being grateful for what you have asked for is an expression of your faith, your joyful testament that it is so.

Gratitude is generated from the heart chakra. It exists as we come into relationship with our blessings and most importantly with the Source of our blessings. When we “know in our heart”, we are in gratitude for a job completed even if the evidence has not yet appeared. Capacity for gratitude grows as you release what (you think) “should” be and open fully to the perfection of life as it unfolds moment to moment.

It is an often recommended practice to keep a gratitude journal where each day you write down a list of a few or several “items” that you are grateful for. Gratitude journals are an excellent way to begin to cultivate a greater sense of heart-felt thankfulness in your life. However, if you desire truly astounding results as rapidly as possible, allow your gratitude practice to transcend a daily accounting of items written in a journal to become your moment by moment experience.

The expression of gratitude is a NOW experience -believe it to be yours now. The Universe works in the now. God’s time is always now. This has been taught by every great master of the Law but is so often “forgotten” as our ego is constantly working to bring time into the equation, but Source works only in the now.

In prayer or meditation, have you ever affirmed that your desire was “coming”? Can you sometimes feel it, your wonderful, amazing desire, so close – so very close – yet still just out of reach like a box on a high shelf? Whatever you ask for is available now. The Bible says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Your heart-felt gratitude is an affirmation of your faith so that the substance may take physical form.

Power of Love and Gratitude

The practice of gratitude as a tool for happiness has been in the mainstream for years. Long-term studies support gratitude’s effectiveness, suggesting that a positive, appreciative attitude contributes to greater success in work, greater health, peak performance in sports and business, a higher sense of well-being, and a faster rate of recovery from surgery.

But while we may acknowledge gratitude’s many benefits, it still can be difficult to sustain. So many of us are trained to notice what is broken, undone or lacking in our lives. And for gratitude to meet its full healing potential in our lives, it needs to become more than just a Thanksgiving word. We have to learn a new way of looking at things, a new habit. And that can take some time.

That’s why practicing gratitude makes so much sense. When we practice giving thanks for all we have, instead of complaining about what we lack, we give ourselves the chance to see all of life as an opportunity and a blessing.

Remember that gratitude isn’t a blindly optimistic approach in which the bad things in life are whitewashed or ignored. It’s more a matter of where we put our focus and attention. Pain and injustice exist in this world, but when we focus on the gifts of life, we gain a feeling of well-being. Gratitude balances us and gives us hope.

There are many things to be grateful for: colorful autumn leaves, legs that work, friends who listen and really hear, chocolate, fresh eggs, warm jackets, tomatoes, the ability to read, roses, our health, butterflies. What’s on your list?

Some Ways to Practice Gratitude

  • Keep a gratitude journal in which you list things for which you are thankful. You can make daily, weekly or monthly lists. Greater frequency may be better for creating a new habit, but just keeping that journal where you can see it will remind you to think in a grateful way.
  • Make a gratitude collage by drawing or pasting pictures.
  • Practice gratitude around the dinner table or make it part of your nighttime routine.
  • Make a game of finding the hidden blessing in a challenging situation.
  • When you feel like complaining, make a gratitude list instead. You may be amazed by how much better you feel.
  • Notice how gratitude is impacting your life. Write about it, sing about it, express thanks for gratitude.

As you practice, an inner shift begins to occur, and you may be delighted to discover how content and hopeful you are feeling. That sense of fulfillment is gratitude at work.
